Fence Cleaning then Staining do it yourself!!

When starting your Fence Cleaning make sure you rinse your fence before placing the solution. Fence Cleaning helps get any loose dirt or debris off the fence so the solution has a better time getting into the wood grain actually cleaning the fence and not trying to work around all that dirt and debris that was on it. Recommend doing it all in sections so you're not feeling overwhelmed to get your entire fence cleaning and trying to do it all in one go.

Fence Cleaning is done now is the time to apply the solution. There are 2 products that you can use: Pool Bleach or 30 second Outdoor Cleaner. When using pool bleach which is why it is recommended to do it in sections as you are washing your fence to make sure to rinse your plants before applying and that they are wet when you apply so that the bleach is not sticking to your plants. If you are still kinda worried there is another product you can use which is the plant cover. It is light and will make sure nothing gets on your plants. When putting the bleach in the Sprayer do ⅓ cup of bleach per gallon of water. The 30 second Outdoor Cleaner is supposed to be safe for your plants so it is another route you can go if you're not wanting to use Pool Bleach. When putting it in the Sprayer use 1 gallon 30 second Exterior Cleaner per 1 gallon of water. Once either Solution is applied give it about 5 mins to dwell on your fence to make sure the solution has time to clean your fence. For any heavy growth on the fence leave it for 10 mins instead of 5 to make sure that all comes off as well. 

Fence Cleaning is done and the Solution had 5-10 mins to dwell now rinse with either your water hose nozzle or pressure washer if using the pressure washer make sure your using a 40 degree tip(white) and standing about 2 feet staying at a constant speed going with a up and down pattern on each board so that your fence looks the same all the way through. If you don't do this it will look different because either didn't apply the same amount of water or didn't keep with constant speed the color of the fence will differ. If using a finer tuned tip it will damage your fence and make wood splitters. Once done go through your plants again and give them another rinse making sure there is no solution residue left on them.

Fence Cleaning, Solution application, and Fence Cleaning again we are about ready to start staining give the fence time to dry otherwise the staining wont look right when applied. Once ready, whichever staining you choose, make sure to get a plastic cover or something to cover where the fence meets your house's siding so you don’t get stain on it. Do it on both sides to make sure nothing gets on the other side. Once that is done when applying the stain, go the direction of the grain. If you want your fence to look uniformed. When you apply it without doing this it will not look correct. Some places will look better than others because they didn't follow the direction of the grain. Use a brush to apply staining on the fence that is close to the home as another precaution to keep stain off the home. Now use the stain applicator to apply it to the rest of your fencing. Do it in sections to avoid lap marks on your fencing. If there is any excess, always have a rag or something to clean the excess off before it dries to your fence. Going from end to end. Then once you are done with the first coat give it 1 to 2 hours before applying the second coat on the fence. With the same process as when you applied the first coat following the wood grain and going end to end making sure not to leave any excess. Then let it dry and you will have a good looking fence!!!

Things to have before starting. something to use water whether it be a water hose nozzle or pressure washer with a 40 degree tip(white), Heavy Duty Sprayer, Pool Bleach or 30 Second Outdoor Cleaner, Plant Cover, Plastic Cover, Stain, Stain Applicator, Brush, Tack Cloth
